Pimenov searched for his artistic style for a long time: at first it was German expressionism, then impressionism. The artist came to modern realism at an evil age and carried it with him through life.

“Wedding on tomorrow's street” is a wonderful, bright, kind work, belonging to the brush of Pimenov and expressing the era of the “sixties”, when people sincerely believed in the construction of a “bright future”.

Pimenov is a master at capturing short moments of life that happen daily and go unnoticed from apparent routine. The artist madly loves Moscow, not so much as a city, but as a homeland. Hence the warmth and liveliness in each plot depicted.

The painting “Wedding on Tomorrow Street” traces the tenderness and characterization of the artist. The plot is not so much like a picture as a film frame of the past sixties. Pimenov directs the viewer to the perspective of life: newlyweds, construction, long, bright street.

The most noticeable spots in the picture are the dress of the young bride and the new house. Everything new, bright is carried by the artist to the world. Despite the fact that in the manner of writing Pimenov there are no clearly prescribed details, the picture does not suffer from this. The artist is so masterfully playing with colors, focuses on light warm colors that the plot is seen to be completely completed.

In “Wedding on Tomorrow Street” the figures are abstract, therefore they cause nostalgia among the youth of the sixties: everyone can see themselves on the canvas of the author.

Pimenov’s paintings are chronicles of a past era, but not static and dry, but bright, cheerful, noisy. The artist’s reverent love for ordinary citizens of his country lives in his paintings today.

Pimenov was a versatile nature. During his life, he glorified himself not only as an artist, but also became a famous set designer, as well as the author of several books.
